The Italian manager and Jose Mourinhohave been linked to replace Julen Lopetegui who is currently struggling with the side at the moment.
Some Bernabeu faithfuls would welcome Lopetegui’s sacking but the Belgian shot-stopper is said to be angry with the names linked to the job.
According to Spanish news media outfit El Pais, a source revealed that Courtois sensationally told team-mates: “I cannot believe it. “Here I am the only one who has worked with Conte and Mourinho. “I left London to not have to go through something like that again and now it turns out that Conte comes, and if not, Mourinho.”
The report further went on to add that the 27-year-old became moody after hearing the names shortlisted by Real. Courtois won Premier League titles under both Mourinho and Conte but both managers ended their spells at Stamford Bridge by in-fighting and a collapse of morale in the dressing room
Courtois was believed to be a big part of the unease – with his consistent wish to leave the west London club always bubbling in the background.
The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper was said to have been unable to hide his displeasure at Mourinho’s psychological games and Conte’s authoritarian approach. After years of persistence, Courtois finally got his wish to return to the Spanish capital, where his two children have lived. But the Belgian is yet to convince Real Madrid fans with his current form following the poor string of results with the club. Courtois has just kept two clean sheets from seven matches as Keylor Navas is given priority in Champions League matches.
Courtois is said to prefer Belgium coach Roberto Martinez to take over at the Bernabeu., who he sees as a ‘father figure’.
