Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have met in Abuja, just a few hours after the party leadership warned against the convening of the meeting, Channels Television reports.
Yekini Nabena, the party’s acting national publicity secretary, had issued a statement in which he drew the attention to what he described as an illegal meeting scheduled to be held on Sunday, September 3, in Abuja by some party members.
In the statement, Nabena had said that the meeting was aimed at decrying the decisions made by the party regarding the modus operandi for the primaries to elect candidates ahead of 2019.
Nabena also warned that the outcome of such a meeting will be a nullity and asked party members to disregard it. Not even one among the attendees of the meeting agreed to speak with newsmen.
