The Portuguese striker joined pre-season training for the first time since his blockbuster move from Real Madrid. Ronaldo arrived at Juve’s training ground on Monday morning to undergo further tests ahead of the new Serie A campaign.
Ronaldo was pictured running on a treadmill wearing an oxygen mask as Juve’s medical team checked on the condition he was reporting back in. The 33-year-old was joined at the club’s training ground by players involved in the latter stages of the World Cup.
Ronaldo was greeted by Argentine duo Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain and Brazil winger Douglas Costa. He is not expected to feature in Juve’s remaining pre-season friendlies in the States against Real Madrid and the MLS All-Stars. His debut is expected to come in the Serie A opener against Chievo on August 19.
Ronaldo’s arrival could spell the end for Higuain in Turin, with Chelsea expected to make a late move.
Maurizio Sarri is keen on a reunion with his former player at Stamford Bridge but AC Milan are also keen.
